If there is anything sacred that we humans do, it just might just be making music. Music is the universal language that connects us all. It relieves suffering and increases joy. It takes us to magical places, inspiring, and merging us with the natural and supernatural.

        Years ago, a Psychic who knew nothing about me, mentioned that I had been building musical instruments for several lifetimes, even in Egypt. I don’t remember any of that, but in this lifetime my path for the last 65 years has been designing and building banjos with “Soul”. This path has been difficult, but also rewarding.

       The Starr Banjos shown here, are made in my Gold Hill shop, and are my last effort at this work.  They are limited to the 200 or so instruments that I have already started.  My son Zen Ogsbury will be continuing to build the ODE banjos in the original OME shop two miles West of Gold Hill.

       The Starr Limited Edition Banjos, have my multi-laminated Curly Maple Tone-rim construction, exceptional tone woods, and solid aged brass hardware that are all combined to produce a warm, woody, and clear tone, perfect for old-time clawhammer and fingerpicking playing styles.
