ONE OF A KIND STARR RESONATOR BANJOS

The STARR Resonator Banjos presented here, are “One-of-a-Kind” instruments made in Gold Hill, Colorado. Most of these banjos were started in the early 1990’s by Gibson in Montana as Mastertone banjos, but they were never finished until this year in Gold Hill, by myself and the original OME staff. As I prefer lightweight banjos whenever possible, most of these instruments weigh significantly less than Traditional Flathead Resonator Banjos. They are certainly more comfortable to play and they produce that classic banjo tone, response, and brilliance, with additional warmth. In general, the heavier the banjo tone ring, the more brilliance, but the less sweet woody tone. The Gibson made necks used here have two-way, front adjusting neck rods and the slimer Gibson neck profile. The Starr rear adjusting necks used here have slightly wider, and deeper profile. All these banjos utilize Select Curly Maple, Walnut, Mahogany, Ebony or Rosewood woods, Genuine Abalone shell inlays, 26 1/4″ scale, 3-ply maple rim, Renaissance head, 24 Brackets, One piece die cast resonator flange, K&H Planetary tuners with Amber knobs, Nickel or aged brass hardware, Presto tailpiece, Wood armrest, Metal rim rods, Dotson Brifge, D’addario Strings, and a heavily padded Faux Leather Gig bag or Hardshell Case.
